E. coli outbreak likely at China Grove Captain's Galley

Health officials in Rowan and Cabarrus counties are investigating an outbreak of E. coli that could be linked to the Captain's Galley Seafood Restaurant in China Grove. As of Thursday morning, there were four confirmed cases of the intestinal illness, and another nine patients are considered to likely have the disease. Even more are still under investigation. Officials say many of those who are sick ate at the Captain's Galley restaurant between May 26 and May 29.

A Seafood Restaurant is not the usual likely source of E. coli generally unless they serve red meat as well. Also a source to look at is salads or cole slaw, both have been the vector for E. coli cases in the past.
