Philly is having an E. coli Issue
The Philadelphia Department of Public Health is investigating 14 confirmed cases of Shiga-toxin producing E. coli (STEC) reported since Aug. 30.
The case patients’ ages range from 7 years old to 90 years, the department said, and all presented signs of acute gastroenteritis with bloody and non-bloody diarrhea.

Swift Beef Co., a Hyrum, Utah establishment, is recalling approximately 99,260 pounds of raw non-intact ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

First suit filed against UFG by E. coli victim
